GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY
Grassroots Advocacy efforts connects you to your government. Whether issues arise at the Federal or State level; you can be an advocate for your credit union by participating in our programs. Using traditional Grassroots tactics, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues connects you to our cause.
ISSUE ADVOCACY
The Grassroots arm of the League is largely responsible for political and issue advertising that supports the credit union legislative agenda. Additionally, Grassroots places advertorials that aim to educate and remind elected officials about the role of credit unions in their communities. Here, you can view past campaigns that were developed specifically to bring messages to Members of Congress, the State Legislatures, and other elected officials in California and Nevada. Check back regularly for new campaigns.
CONNECT FOR THE CAUSE
Connect for the Cause is the League’s web-based advocacy network for all credit union supporters to advocate for our issues. Connect for the Cause allows credit union supporters to communicate quickly and directly with their Member of Congress or State Legislators concerning important issues that affect our industry. CREDIT UNION PARTNERS FOR ADVOCACY PROGRAM
What Is Credit Union Partners For Advocacy?
The Credit Union Partners for Advocacy program enables small credit unions to join large credit unions at the annual Government Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington, D.C. and state Government Relations Rallies. The four-day GAC event includes educational breakout sessions, notable speakers, and Capitol Hill visits.
Why Should I Participate In Credit Union Partners For Advocacy?
Last year, more than 40 small credit union CEOs, board members, and employees brought their message to the Hill through generous sponsorships from participants in this program. In 2010, several pieces of legislation could seriously affect the credit union industry, so it's more important than ever to meet with your Members of Congress.
