CALIFORNIA LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
The California Legislature is well into the 2010-2011 legislative session. Credit unions can anticipate a full array of issues addressing mortgage lending, loan origination, and foreclosure proceedings. The California Legislature is going to be very active this year in addressing financial institutions and the current economic climate, which also includes the state’s growing budget deficit. Check here regularly for updates on all of California’s legislative proceedings.

NEVADA LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
The 76th Session of the Nevada Legislature began on February 7, 2011 at 11:01 AM, and adjourned sine die on June 7, 2011, at 1:20 AM. The government affairs team tracked, monitored and/or sought to amend over 30 bills this year. In one of the busiest legislative sessions for the financial services community, bill topics included everything from mortgage lending, money transmittals to foreign countries and county recorder fees.
